The categories below are broad, and chosen by us merely to help organise the entry process. The judges will be looking at all entries individually and will judge like against like, moving products into suitable, more refined categories as part of the process. The category you choose to enter won't inhibit judging which is intent on rewarding the best products entered.  See previous year's winners here.

FURNITURE

Big ticket items, from sofas to armchairs to bookcases and tables. Judges are looking for craftsmanship, aesthetic value and functionality.

LIGHTING

We are looking for beauty and innovation, and this can include wall lights, table lamps, pendants or anything that creates a glow.

KITCHEN & DINING

This is for cookware and tableware - nothing that has a plug socket.

KITCHEN FITTINGS 

Here we're looking for everything from whole kitchens to standalone units to fixtures such as taps.

BATHROOM FIXTURES

Baths, taps, showers

SOFT FURNISHINGS & HOME ACCESSORIES

This can include decorative and smaller accessories, like cushions, throws, bed linen, rugs, ceramics, mirrors, objet and stationery.

FLOOR COVERINGS

From parquet to tiling, from wood to carpet and rugs, and everything in between.

HOME TECH AND APPLIANCES 

Innovative gadgets that make a house easier to live in, from toasters and kettles to doorbells, security and fitness.

DECORATING

Within this we will be awarding separately the best in wallpaper, fabric and paint as well as full collections.

SURFACES

Anything that can  go on a wall or worktop

SUSTAINABILITY 

This can cover any design that is proud of its eco credentials, particularly innovations, or making it easier for the consumer to make eco choices.

OUTDOOR FURNITURE AND ACCESSORIES

Garden furniture, lighting or gardening tools

BATHROOM ACCESSORIES AND HOME FRAGRANCE

From candles and reed diffusers to hand soaps
